Welcome! Glad you are here.

Healing is possible. And it starts today.

About the Practice

In 2021, the practice began as a mission to help individuals heal from trauma, anxiety, depression and all the lingering effects of painful life experiences. Through therapy and support, you can find relief, reconnect with yourself, and create a version of you that feels grounded and whole.  We help clients move beyond survival and into healing — rebuilding trust in themselves and in their lives. Whether you’ve experienced a single event or years of emotional pain, we’ll work together to help you feel calm, connected, and empowered again.

Trauma, depression, anxiety and the unmanaged stress of life often lead to feeling stuck, and feeling out of control of yourself, your emotions and your reactions.  We yell more than we'd like to.  We avoid what we know needs to be done.  Or, we do it so well, that being in complete control of the environment, and of others, is the only way to feel a bit of relief.  But, there is a better way.  A way to live with intention and purpose, guided by the best version of you.

Trauma Therapy

The Process of Healing

You’ll never know your full potential until you give yourself a chance. Trauma Therapy is only one way in which we can work together to help you achieve life's full potential.  We practice EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), EFT tapping, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, DNMS (Developmental needs meeting strategy), self-regulation strategies and other freedom techniques to release you from the bondage of painful past experiences.

Individual Psychotherapy

Coping, growth, self-actualization

We believe that every single human being has a bit of healing to do. Improving your self-awareness and your outlook of troubling situations are just two of the ways in which therapy can dramatically change your life.  Our practice specializes in helping those struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, major life upheavals and difficult transitions. We also specialize in working with those who love someone with an addiction and will help you break the cycle in co-dependent and dysfunctional relationships.  We are always mindful of resources that may assist you in your journey, including a robust resource network of medication experts we can refer you to.

Couples Therapy

Changing patterns, healing attachments

Every relationship faces moments of disconnection — times when communication breaks down, trust feels shaky, or emotional distance grows. Couples therapy offers a space to slow down, listen differently, and rebuild understanding.  In our work together, partners learn to recognize patterns that keep them stuck and begin creating new ways of relating built on empathy, respect, and safety. Whether you’re navigating conflict, healing from past hurts, or simply wanting to strengthen your bond, therapy provides tools to reconnect and grow together.  With a trauma-informed lens, couples sessions focus on restoring emotional attunement and deepening the sense of partnership that allows both people to feel seen, supported, and valued.

Telehealth

Treatment with convenience through TherapyNotes

The world has changed; one of the lasting impacts from the pandemic is the increased accessibility to treatment.  Therapy can now occur while you are in the comfort of your own home, allowing for you to "ease" into the process (but I promise, you will be very comfortable in the office too!)

More about EMDR therapy

What is EMDR? Introduced by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the 1980's, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, widely used, structured approach that allows for use of Bilateral Stimulation (BLS), usually eye movements or gentle tapping, while temporarily focusing on distressing memories.  This allows for lessening the disturbances, both physical and emotional, associated with the memory, "trigger" and/or recall of the experience.

What does EMDR treat?  EMDR has been shown to be effective in treatment of PTSD, phobias, depression, anxiety, nightmares, chronic pain, addictions, OCD and more.  According to EMDRIA.org, "EMDR therapy has even been superior to Prozac in trauma treatment (Van der Kolk et al., 2007). Shapiro and Forrest (2016) share that EMDR therapists in 130 countries have successfully treated millions".

Is EMDR different than other therapy?  Traditional talk therapy methods often serve as a wonderful adjunct to EMDR.  However, EMDR does not require extensive talking about the disturbing events or memories of the experiences, and most clients report feeling improvement in just a few sessions of reprocessing.

Where can I learn more about EMDR?  The EMDR International Association has many resources available to  and learn more and can be found here.
